It would be great if we could go to Public Works and drop off leaves, yard waste and brush from Eden Prairie residents. The leaf drop-off and brush drop-off programs have different processing methods and distinct end markets for the different materials, so it’s important they stay separate. Compost could be used for park projects or community gardens.

I agree, a place in the city of Eden Prairie where EP residents can drop off their yard waste that can be composted and put to use. Let's make Eden Prairie greener.

Thank you for your suggestions. The City of Eden Prairie accepts residential yard waste during its annual Community Drop-Day event in June. During the remainder of the year leaves, yard waste, tree branches and other vegetation can be disposed of at several locations throughout Hennepin County. Because these services are currently available through other providers at very affordable rates, the City has not invested in creating another year-round drop-off site. For more information on yard waste disposal and composting in Hennepin County, visit http://www.hennepin.us/yardwaste.

In addition, it would be great if the Weed Harvesters, who are commissioned by the City and/or Watershed, could deposit their harvested weeds into a City compost location. Right now, they have to pay someone to haul the weeds away. This also makes the weed harvesting more problematic.
